I’m no stranger to long trips in a cramped car. It seems like more often than not we’re making sizable road trips these days, and I’ve grown somewhat accustomed to the whole process in the sense that I don’t get antsy or too physically pained by the long bout of sitting still anymore. However, there is still one piece of the puzzle that is missing for me; finding the proper settings for the car’s air temperature control. I feel like my boyfriend is always adjusting the thermostat so that there is a lot of air conditioning for my personal preferences. I don’t mind, because I can usually just shut off the air vents closest to me, and let him bask in all the AC that he desires. However, there are also plenty of times that I can’t afford to close my air vents due to the hot afternoon sun pounding on me through the passenger side window. In these circumstances, I can’t shut off my air conditioning, or else I’m baked alive in the heat. I really don’t like to have the air conditioning pointed directly at my face, and my limbs get extremely cold when I’m sitting so still, so I’m forced to keep adjusting the air vents every few minutes to try to find some semblance of proper temperature control. I know it’s like a third world problem and I should be grateful for having a car and AC at all, but after ten hours in the vehicle you start to lose sight of your blessings.
