The last two years have been a roller coaster with a lot of ups and downs. The pandemic and the lockdowns were life-changing events that we will never forget. They had some pros and cons, and some people were drastically impacted more than others. Some were able to cope with the “new normal” but others not so much. One thing for sure I know that came from the pandemic is our heightened awareness for indoor air quality in our homes, in our schools, churches, and other public spaces. For me, I have taken a few measures to make sure that the air quality in my home isn’t filled with too many pollutants. I read somewhere that opening my door every day to allow fresh air to come in can improve indoor ventilation. So, now that the weather is nice outside, I keep my door open for at least one hour per day. I have also changed my filters more often than I did before and I am now cleaning the air vents every two weeks. I know these techniques are not 100 percent guaranteed to keep pollutants out of my home. Perhaps one day I will invest in additional air purification equipment when they become a bit cheaper. Right now, the home air purifiers are in demand, so the prices are on the higher end. The ones that are highly rated can range from $500 to $1,000. They come equipped with HEPA filters which is one of the best filters on the market. Once I purchase one of these air purifiers, I will feel a lot more secure about the air quality in my home.
