My wife and I visited with my dad last weekend.
It was the first time I had seen him in six months.
Work has been crazy busy and we have two new clients that demand a lot of our time and energy. Business has been good, but I wanted to take some time to see my Dad. I talked with him on the phone and he sounded depressed. I knew something wasn’t right, so we planned the weekend trip. I didn’t expect to find a mess in the house, but it seemed clear that my dad was not taking care of himself and the house. I mentioned moving to the city where my wife and I live and my dad got upset. He told me that he would never leave the house. I told my dad that I wanted to help. My wife and I talked for a couple of hours and she mentioned a maid for hire. A cleaning service would definitely help my dad. The next day we started looking at professional cleaning services. The maid for hire cost an arm and a leg, but my wife and I did not leave until we found someone that my dad likes. We interviewed several cleaning ladies on Sunday and my dad chose a very nice older woman with a Southern accent and plenty of appeal and charm. My wife and I are paying for that made and the cleaning service. As long as my dad allows them to do their job, it will absolutely help him take better care of himself and the house.
