I never knew a single thing about apartment ownership before I found myself in possession of this property.
Honestly, I didn’t ask for any of this responsibility.
Our seasoned family apartment was left to me when my Grandpa passed away. Now, it is my job to make sure that everything is in tip-top shape around the residence whether I know what I am doing or not. I am consistently trying to renovate the apartment so it would be livable for one of my family members or sellable for a profit. Unblessedly, the apartment is lacking modern amenities. When I acquired it, the apartment had an outdated central heating, cooling, & air quality control system that was not up to this week’s modern energy Efficiency standards. You had to run in the central heating & cooling system all morning & all night to maintain any kind of indoor air quality. The energy bills were consistently through the roof & I knew that the Heating & Air Conditioning device was only part of the problem. The other issue is the horrible lack of insulation in the house. I realized a long time ago that the attic had decrepit insulation in location that did not contain any of the high-quality treated indoor air. The doors & windows were harshly drafty & needed extra insulation. Furthermore, there was no buffer between the bitterly cold basement & the first floor. By insulating all of these areas I effectively decreased the energy inefficiency problem & obtained myself a little extra time to replace the central Heating & Air Conditioning system. At least I am learning how to be a responsible homeowner now.
