I love my new house.

  • I love that it sits on a giant plot of land and is totally private.

I love my wood ceiling, big bedroom and having two bathrooms. There are some cons that I am trying to fix to make it a dream home. First, there is no driveway. I just drive through sand and park. Second, the kitchen is ridiculously tiny and old. I am saving to gut the space and planning to expand into my living room. Lastly, the HVAC system is super old and awful. It is 17 years old and not efficient. The HVAC unit sits in a hallway closest to where I want to store things. it takes up basically the whole space. Also, the HVAC makes a really loud whistle sound when it operates. Thankfully it is only noise from outside. But, when the HVAC is running and I am outside, the whistle is painful. I have googled around and asked in heating and cooling forums. Apparently my brand and year of system are known for the whistle. I could replace all the inner workings and get every HVAC repair known to man, the sound will stay. I just need to wait for it to die and get a new system. I can’t wait to get a new one. I am going to get a ductless heat pump and have air handlers and thermostats in every room. I will have zone control and be able to save money not providing HVAC or unused rooms. I also can set climate control programs for added convenience. I won’t have that dumb sound anymore and I will free up the clsoet space.
