I have consistently been someone who coughs.
- Winter, Springtime, Summer and fall, I have a phlegmy cough.
There never seems to actually be anything wrong with me, but the cough is frustrating. I have had this kind of persistent cough for years, and I just figured it’s the way I am. Then, I discovered that the cough is honestly allergies! I had never thought of that before. The dentist asked myself and others if I have an air purification system, and I looked at him care about he was from Venus. No, I live in a rented house. I am lucky I have air conditioner much less an air purification system. My property owner is nice, but he’s not going to get a bunch of Heating and Air Conditioning extras for me. So, then, I found out that the a/c air filters I have consistently used actually aren’t any good; You know, I use those red one’s, and I figured an air filter is an air filter, right? Well, no. It turns out that those red fiberglass a/c filters are essentially useless for people. Their purpose is to help protect the a/c unit, not the people in the house. And they don’t actually do all that much for the a/c, either. My dentist recommended that if I don’t want to get a whole home air purification system, I should at least get nice a/c air filters. He recommended that I get HEPA filters and just see if I seem to cough less. Well, I still cough sporadically, however I do manage to sleep all night without waking up from coughing all night long. My dust sensitivity symptoms do indeed seem to be reduced by HEPA air filters.
