I don’t think that I am an extremely judgemental person.

For as long as I can remember, I have been doing my best to get to know new people and understand their particular lifestyles.

I really don’t ever want to pass my judgment on anyone else before I can understand what it’s like to walk in their shoes. As an interview journalist, I feel like this is all part of the career. Unfortunately, it turns out that I still have my own biases in random areas of my own personal life. Apparently I have a problem with extremely novice servicemen arriving on the job when I hired a pro. I found this out recently after I hired a heating and cooling repair shop for a basic air conditioning maintenance inspection. I wanted to make sure my AC unit was going to be in good shape before I shut it down for the winter season. As such, I called my regular heating and cooling dealership and arranged for a basic air conditioning service appointment. Normally, my heating and cooling technician is a 60 year old man with 40 years of HVAC experience under his belt. On the day that my heating and cooling inspection was scheduled to take place I was rather surprised to see the HVAC truck pull into my driveway with a tiny child behind the wheel. The heating and cooling technician who hopped out of the HVAC repair vehicle appeared to be too young to even have a driver’s license. I couldn’t understand how this supposed air quality control specialist was qualified to inspect my HVAC system. After I turned him away from my AC unit and asked for a more senior HVAC tech to be sent out… well… he wrote quite a scathing op-ed article at the publication where I work.
