What’s going on with the gas prices? And this shortage? I assume that COVID must have made some people go crazy, because this hoarding nonsense is terrible for the country.

  • A temporary problem, a single one that everyone would never have even noticed, caused a panic, so people started stocking up on all that gas.

That was what REALLY caused the shortage, and seeing as how people are so foolish, I have been a lot more cautious with how I use my gas these days. Most times I won’t even run the air conditioning device in the car when I drive around town, no matter how overheated it gets. I guess I sound exactly like my dad right now, however it’s honestly true that running the air conditioning device in your car cuts fuel efficiency close to half, especially when there is as much traffic as all of us have these days. I hate when you have to sit for 45 minutes with the car idling with the air conditioning on full blast to box out that horrendous humidity. I drive as little as possible, first of all. When I do drive I try to restrict it to early mornings and late afternoons, when the car’s A/C device isn’t as substantial. Of course, this is not how it goes at all when it comes to my household, because the A/C is powered by electricity, and much more efficient than my car happens to be. After a long sweaty drive I will transfer my desk chair straight under an HVAC vent and let the coldness pour all over me. A/C is for the home, and not so much for the car.
