A few years back, I recall studying about an HVAC serviceman that fell from a 10 story building while attempting a repair; The guy had never tried to maintenance an HVAC system that high up separate from a harness. The news article stated that he had done similar repairs on the building in the past; On the day of the incident, I arrived at toil at his respected time ready for another modest day of HVAC repair, then little did he know, this would be his last day on the planet, but when the HVAC serviceman saw the location of the building in need of maintenance, he took the task with no question asked. This particular building had been vacant up to about 10 years ago when a giant supplier bought it to run their headquarters, and he had spent countless hours laboring on the building’s HVAC system when the building first opened. He knew his way around the building pretty well and if he was ever confused, he knew the right people to talk to. They all knew him as the “AC guy”. On the day of his death, there had been a heavy snowfall the night before. He knew that it was risky climbing on the roof to maintenance the HVAC, but it happened so hastily that his co workers did not even notice that he wasn’t around until they heard the news from some security guards on the ground floor, however greg fell 10 stories to his death fixing an HVAC system.
