I’m really happy to live where I do. Granted, this time of year can be quite a challenge with the levels of heat and humidity that we have to deal with. But this is just the price we have to pay to live in such a wonderful region. That said, the summers are sizzling hot. It’s mid June and I just saw a forecast for 101 degrees the day after tomorrow. So the heat is here and the air conditioning is on in earnest. But that’s how you manage the heat down here. HVAC cooling is pretty much ever present from the commercial HVAC where I shop and work to the residential HVAC of home. I’m lucky to have such great air conditioning wherever I am. The zone controlled HVAC in the office is stellar. I even have a thermostat right outside of my office. That makes coming to work in a suit during the summer manageable. And the heat pump at home does a stellar job of HVAC cooling. The heat pump is easily the HVAC heating and cooling method of choice in our area. There’s really nothing else that can compete with the cooling comfort we receive from the heat pump. There are evaporative coolers used here as well but I don’t know too many homes with them. No, it’s the heat pump and that means it’s really important to get that piece of HVAC equipment the HVAC maintenance it needs in the spring prior to all this heat and humidity moving in. It’s a long, hot summer and having a tuned up heat pump is essential.
