I’ve kind of been hibernating from performing although I suppose the itch again and it is time to scratch it
January is the carnival celebration in our neighborhood next month and things will get a bit silly for four or five days. I don’t unquestionably mind it because it brings in some excitement when life here can get pretty episodic and boring at times. I spend quite a bit of time alone so I love it when an influx of people comes to our town, it kind of wakes me up a bit. I want to start a yearly open mic soon and am looking for a fantastic locale to do so. I think I found a place that’s perfect. It is a small bar with a/c, which is rare, and unquestionably nice space heating systems close to the stage where I would be performing. The winters here can be unquestionably frigid and when you are in some of these outdated clubs with the cement walls, it can get downright chilly at evening inside. I think this place even has indoor air cleaners to get rid of the dust and smoke, which makes it all the more beautiful for a yearly show. I’ve kind of been hibernating from performing although I suppose the itch again and it is time to scratch it. I think they have a HEPA filter in the furnace in the club so flu symptoms shouldn’t be a problem for me as they were in the other places with the cheap filters. I could see the dust blow from the vents when the fan kicked on and knew that it was not fantastic for our health. This new spot should be the one!
