My next door neighbor bought a beautiful Husky for Christmas.

His two kids had been asking for a dog for about two years.

He had told me that he was very hesitant at first, because of the significant responsibility. The dog is essentially another member of the family, after all. He let his kids wait and wait and wait and beg and plead and promise to high heaven that they would take as best a care of their hypothetical pooch as they possibly could. So, he relented and decided a few months ago that he would find a purebred Husky. The only problem with this is we live in considerably warm weather. Well, it was somewhat cold at Christmas time when he bought the Husky, but I knew that Husky was going to be rather uncomfortable once spring arrived. My neighbor simply thought that he would be able to run the air conditioner at a temperature sufficiently cool enough for the Husky. He found that in the midst of the summer, the Husky was somewhat hesitant to go outside in blazing heat. It was also a whiner, as I’ve heard many Huskies are, and he could swear that it would start whining simply because it felt that the temperature inside the house was too high! Sure enough, my neighbor would turn down the thermostat, and his Husky would calm down! He now had to choose between significantly higher energy bills and a loud and whiny pooch! Well, he said that at least the kids take good care of their dog.
