I never knew a single thing about condo ownership before I found myself in possession of this property.
Honestly, I didn’t ask for any of this responsibility.
Our old family condo was left to me when my Grandfather passed away. Now, it is my task to make sure that everything is in tip-top shape around the residence whether I know what I’m doing or not. I’m consistently trying to renovate the condo so it would be livable for one of my family members or sellable for a profit. Unfortunately, the condo is lacking new amenities. When I acquired it, the condo had an aged central heating, cooling, plus air quality control system that was not up to this week’s new energy Efficiency standards. You had to run in the central heating plus cooling system all day plus all night to maintain any kind of indoor air quality. The daily bills were always through the roof plus I knew that the Heating and A/C component was only part of the problem. The other issue is the horrible lack of insulation in the house. I realized a long time ago that the attic had decrepit insulation in site that did not contain any of the high-quality treated indoor air. The doors plus windows were severely drafty plus needed extra insulation. Furthermore, there was no buffer between the bitterly frosty basement plus the first floor. By insulating all of these areas I effectively decreased the energy inefficiency problem plus bought myself a little extra time to replace the central Heating and A/C system. At least I’m learning how to be a responsible homeowner now.
