It can be challenging coming from a tough plus toxic family.

I know that I have learned a lot from being around these human beings all of my life, but at the same time I am so tired of their shenanigans.

There is no way to have a conversation with my family members without them down playing your experience plus commenting on their own unique brand of suffering or survival. They always have it worse, plus you are always inrespected for voicing your unhappiness. This is even the case when it comes to indisputable facts, but for instance, when they call me in the dead of Summer from their Northern latitude plus tell me that the outdoor air temperature is too miserable to survive. They try to tell me that the outdoor heat plus humidity is so oppressive that they do not know how to exist anymore. They are afraid that their central cooling system is going to chop down any day, if the daily bills don’t cripple them first. I hear about their air quality troubles in the tepid plus muggy summer time season every single year. They are always catastrophizing what could go wrong with their heating plus cooling systems plus telling me that I am fortunate to have a much easier existence. The fact is, I live in the Deep South where the air temperature is truly hotter plus my reliance on air conditioner is far more significant! Whenever I try to counter their complaints with indisputable data about my new outdoor weather conditions, they just tell me to stop whining.
