Next week I’m going to be out of town on a long trip to a new city where I will be living soon.

We’re heading there to find a place to live in preparation for the big move, so it’s going to take some time.

We have decided to stay at a hotel for the duration of our trip, but I have a few fears about this setup. Namely, I’m really anxious to find out what sort of heating and cooling system our room will employ. Sure, I’d also love for the place to have a comfy bed, clean sheets, and the small amenities necessary to feel at ease, but I’m most concerned that we’ll be able to adequately modify the temperature in our room. I’ve had too many bad experiences in the past where the hotel only had a tiny heating and cooling unit, which barely functioned as either a heater or an air conditioner due to it’s tiny size. We would walk into the room and find it to be sweltering hot, adjust the little digital thermostat, and fell essentially no cool air emitted from the tiny air vents. After several hours it would finally catch up with the desired temperature setting, but by that time it would always be the middle of the night, and we’d wake up completely freezing cold. I just want to be able to rely on an HVAC system that can keep our room at a steady, comfortably temperature for the entire day and night, with a responsive air conditioner and proper ventilation.
