I took our frigid dip this morning in an angry and uninviting Mediterranean Sea.

The wind was blowing and the waves were pounding me, along with a heavy rip tide, although I did our 10 minutes in the 58F freezing water.

I got hypothermia a few weeks ago from staying in for too long so now I am sure to watch the big clock on the church near where I swim to avoid that happening again. I don’t absolutely swim when I go in, I just float in a small balled up position to conserve heat but cool our joints. I come lake house and sit next to our space gas furnace for a few minutes and after that the people I was with and I take a boiling bath for about 20 minutes. I do this frigid and boiling therapy to help speed up the healing of our joints from all of the years of volleyball. I have central heat although I don’t love to turn on the thermostat to warm the whole flat since most of the time I am in our office chilling out. I have a pretty quiet life now that our lady moved out and occasionally I suppose lonely but remind myself that I am just alone, not lonely. I hear the sound of our air handler kicking on so I think I need to shut off the smart thermostat because it isn’t smart enough to learn our mind. I love to just put on some extra clothes when I am lake house so I can save some money with the power bills, which have increased a lot lately.
