Our furnace is really loud and whenever it keeps on it makes a really loud wheezing and blowing sound as the heat is coming through the heating vents in the house.
My husband seems to think that this is an issue and so do my kids! They all complain that the heating system wakes them up at night whenever they’re sleeping.
I personally don’t think that it is a problem at all, though. I am a big fan of white noise, and so the sound of the loud heating system running during the night actually lulls me to sleep. It always makes me feel safe and cozy. It’s almost like I’m riding inside of a train or something. However, when I said that to my husband he assured me that being inside my house should not sound like I’m sleeping inside of a train. I guess he has a point, but if we get the heating system fixed so it’s not so loud, I will be sad. I just love that loud whooshing sound. I just don’t understand the way the rest of my family thinks that it’s annoying. I keep telling them that there are much worse things than living in a house with a loud furnace, but they just look at me like I’m crazy. I will admit that it’s kind of annoying to have to turn the TV up super loud whenever the heating system kicks on at night. Then when the heating stops running, the TV blasts sound really loud and it scares you. But really, that’s the only thing that’s annoying about it at all for me. I love having a furnace that is really loud and I think that it’s actually a good thing!
