Have you seen that episode of Black Mirror where they discuss the inevitable social ranking plan that the people I was with and I are going to develop some day? Everybody walks around with some kind of several star rating hovering over their head.

  • This review plan is controlled by every other citizen on Earth.

They can determine if you are a pleasant man to interact with or not using a simple iphone app which effectively determines everything else you can do in life. This terrifies me. I have never wanted to be individually rated before. Until… My central heating and cooling repair shop started asking for individual client reviews on their heating and cooling workers. As a professional heating, cooling, and ventilation repair worker I see a lot of individual clients each day. I am constantly going from central heating and cooling repair task to professional air conditioning replacement service, day after day. This means I interact with a lot of persnickety clients who have a lot to say about their indoor air temperature control. I got pretty worried when the shop started asking for Heating, Ventilation, and A/C worker feedback following routine heating & cooling repair appointments. Who knows what these people are going to say about me. It turns out, I am an harshly pleasant heating and cooling worker to interact with. I have regularly had the highest ratings out of all of the Heating, Ventilation, and A/C repair workers at the shop. This means, I am given the best Heating, Ventilation, and A/C repair tasks and I have made several raises in the past 6 months. These afternoons, I’m reconsidering my opinion on social ranking.
