We have several horses on our farm, and they are really just like part of the family.

We have had them for almost five years now, and so they have basically been growing up with our kids ever since we moved onto our farm years ago.

We really love these horses, and some people would probably accuse us of spoiling them. One of the things that I get a lot of flak about is the fact that I wanted to put an air conditioning system out in the barn for the horses. Now, I am fully aware that horses are actually animals and they are able to live outside without problems in the wild. But honestly, with my horses, I’m concerned about them overheating during the high temperatures of the summer. We live in a pretty hot climate, and since we tend to run the air conditioning inside of our house from May through September, I feel like it’s only fair to do the same thing for our animals. I mean, when I think about all of the joy that these horses bring to our family, not to mention the help that they give us around our property, I think that they deserve to have A/C just as much as we do. I guess it is kind of weird that we probably have the only air conditioned barn in the entire county, but I just want my animals to be comfortable. I do still think the horse stall at the north end of the barn still needs another A/C unit added to it.
