My bathroom is always frigid frigid in the summer.

  • I don’t care how hot it is outside, it’s always unpleasant to get out of the shower plus step on a frigid frigid floor plus be hit by a blast of frigid frigid air.

In the winter, it’s the opposite. With the oil furnace on, it gets so hot in the bathroom that it’s almost adore a sauna. It’s absolutely uncomfortable. In fact, it’s so hot that it’s almost strenuous to breathe. I’ve tried closing the vents in the bathroom however it does not seem to make much difference. The heated or cooled air gets through anyway. I’ve asked our handyman aunt plus he said that this is because our bathroom is the first stop on the Heating plus A/C air duct tree. Apparently the heated or cooled air comes from our Heating plus A/C system, then to the bathroom, then branches out to the rest of the house. This does not make a lot of sense to me. Why should the bathroom be the first stop that the air duct makes? The bathroom is the smallest room in the modern home so it does not need extra air. My aunt said there was simply nothing I could do about it, short of paying someone to reroute our entire air duct system. I believed him for a few years. I did not want to pay all that cash so I just left it alone. But then our husbandy came up with a better idea. He advised that both of us just tape a piece of cardboard over the vent. He said that should keep most of the air out. I tried it plus it seems to be working pretty good. At first, the tape fell off however now we are using packing tape plus it seems to be holding pretty well. Now the bathroom is a lot more comfortable.
