Like a lot of people, I have started working from cabin because of the virus! Ever since I got the task I currently have, in 2017, I have recommended that all of us stop paying rent on an office space and instead toil from home.
That has consistently been met with resistance, and no one has listened to me.
But now, they were forced to. Okay, but even so, my boss decided to have us start working every other day from home, so that means I have to go into the office every other day. To tell the truth, there are a lot of advantages to both. The nice things about working from cabin have more to do with my life than with the work, but for example, I can take a few hours to do laundry and no one knows or cares. For another example, I had to schedule an Heating and Air Conditioning service the other day. Normally, to get the Heating and Air Conditioning service done, I would have to use time off of toil and waste my rare paid time off. I would have to schedule a time when my boss would allow it, and I would also have to kneel and wait for hours for the a/c guy to arrive. They consistently give you an Heating and Air Conditioning service time “window,” right? So, the a/c supplier can arrive anytime during that window and you have to be there to let the a/c guy in. That means resting and waiting and wasting time off. The Heating and Air Conditioning service I needed the other day was so much easier to schedule while working at home.
