Eventually a friend of mine said that I should think about getting a ductless mini split. I immediately said it would be too expensive to have a bunch of HVAC professionals install something like that. That’s when he told me that I could install it without HVAC professionals and he would help me with the installation. I was shocked to hear that because I always thought you needed HVAC professionals for all HVAC installations. When I looked into the ductless mini split HVAC installation, it seemed easy enough for us to do. So I ordered a ductless mini split with multiple zones and my buddy and I got to work on the installation. He was right, we didn’t need professionals for this work. The DIY ductless mini split is perfect because it comes preloaded with compressed refrigerant. When you are done with the installation, you are able to release the refrigerant into the system, but you have to make sure the hoses are secure and that there is no leaking. We did everything according to the installation instructions, and we had everything working perfectly. Now my window A/C units just sit in the attic while I get to enjoy my awesome HVAC system which is extremely energy efficient. I wish I would have known about these ductless mini splits a long time ago because I have been saving a small fortune on my energy bills with this new HVAC.
