A few months ago I made a pretty strange decision.

It was probably a choice that other people have a hard time understanding.

I can totally relate to their confusion over my major life change… but I still think I did the right thing. Don’t get me wrong, my life is going to be a lot more difficult because of my actions. That’s what happens when you adopt a dog who doesn’t have basic motor skills. I wound up finding an adorable puppy who I absolutely needed to take care of… The only caveat being his necessity for a wheelchair. My sweet little pup has a hard time getting around on his own. Therefore, he has to use a doggie wheelchair to scoot himself around the yard. This wouldn’t be a big deal, but it is an ice cold hassle to get his wheelchair out the door. Everytime I’m trying to put him outside I release half of my high-quality heated air to the outdoor environment. I have to finagle his wheelchair outside as my warm indoor air rapidly exchanges itself with the frigid air outside. I swear that to my indoor air temperature decreases 10 degrees every time I let the dog go to the bathroom. Then, I have to operate my forced air furnace at a more powerful level in order to undo the fluctuating hot and cold temperatures throughout the house. I know that this dog is costing me a lot of extra money in energy bills and HVAC wear and tear. However, he repays me in love and affection.
