The Tampa area has a lot of Springs

I tell everyone that if they come to Florida and get to the Tampa Bay area, they should not leave before visiting some of the Natural Springs.

  • My wife and I moved to Tampa Bay about fifteen years ago.

Every time friends visit, we go to a new spring. In all, we have probably visited at least 100 Florida Springs since we have lived here. We have our favorites and one of them is about forty five minutes outside of Tampa Bay. Three Sisters Springs is a phenomenal place to visit. My wife loves the manatees, and during the winter, the manatees head inland. When the tropical waters begin to cool, the manatees come into the springs. Three Sisters Springs natural water temperature is always around seventy-five degrees all year round. That makes it a perfect spot for the manatees to gather and stay warm until the tropics begin to heat up again. Although the native manatees can be found in many other springs, Three Sisters Springs is our favorite. We also have some nice Springs in Seminole County, like the Weeki Wachee Springs. The Weeki Wachee Spring is popular for their Mermaid theater. This a show of live performers in an underwater setting. We also enjoy going to Rainbow Springs State Park. Rainbow Springs State Park is less than an hour from the Tampa Bay area and it is popular for their underwater snorkelling adventure. The area has all kinds of natives fishes including the alligator gar, rainbow trout and perch. There are thousands of reason to come and stay in Tampa Bay area while in Florida.
