When you have more than two kids and they are all within two years of each other, it makes for a very busy house.
You don’t really have a lot of time to do much of anything.
When they finally all got into elementary school, I finally had time to do special things for myself and with the kids. One of my favorite things to do was to go on field trips with them. My son brought a permission slip home from school that gave him permission to go to the Florida Aquarium. They were looking for chaperones and I thought it was going to be a lot of fun. I thought I would be able to pack a couple of sandwiches and a couple bottles of water and follow the bus in my air conditioned car. It was nearly an hour ride to the Florida Aquarium and I was not wanting to sit in a bus that entire time. Unfortunately, that is exactly what ended up happening I was stuck on the bus with a bunch of yelping children and a bunch of teachers who could have cared less. We were about halfway to the Florida Aquarium when the bus driver stopped the bus to yell at the kids. Once we finally got there, the kids were having a blast looking at the sharks, jellyfish and stingrays. After a couple of hours, they were calmed down and ready to sleep all the way home from the Florida Aquarium. The trip home didn’t take nearly as much time as the trip to the Florida Aquarium
