My daughter is 12 years old so she loves spending time with her friends from school.
Almost every weekend, I’m either driving her to a friend’s house or one of her friend’s is visiting our house.
I’ve always loved the friends she brings over because as 12 year olds, they are really sweet and they can entertain themselves. All I have to do is supervise and keep them fed. However, last weekend, she invited a new friend over and I think it will be the last time we have her over. She was dropped off by her nanny, and I was given a list of food items she was not allowed to eat. The list was so long and I didn’t know what I was going to feed her for lunch. Then, I couldn’t please my daughter’s friend with the thermostat settings. She kept complaining about how cold it was inside. Our thermostat is always set to 69 degrees during the winter because it’s efficient and saves us money on the utility bill. If we let the thermostat run any higher than 69 degrees then our utility bill gets too expensive. Well, I decided to make an exception and turn the temperature up to 71 degrees so her friend didn’t feel too cold. 10 minutes later, she was complaining about how hot it was. I dropped the temperature down to 70 degrees, and she still wasn’t happy. I don’t know how her parents keep her comfortable in their own home.
