But in the years since, I have grown to hate this machine.

There are tons of older technology that I am ecstatic to see gone. Despite what some may know about it, I never liked VCRs as well as apartment video cassette tapes. Even if you don’t consider the VCR maintenance as well as cleaning, the tapes themselves get increasingly worn as they’re used. Occasionally they get stuck directly in the VCR itself after magnetic tape starts spooling outside of the cassette enclosure. When DVDs hit the market in the 1990s, I was ecstatic with the changes. As long as you don’t mess up the disks, you are regularly getting a perfect picture of the film you’re watching. With state of the art disks, you could see the film with exceptionally high video quality. Even though there are still holdouts who like using VCR tapes, it’s nice to see that humanity at large embraced the technological advances when they eventually hit the market. You’d know these paradigm shifts would occur in all markets, but they don’t. I’ve been using extremely old window air conditioning for the past more than three years. When I moved into this apartment to get closer to my work, I wasn’t too uneasy about using extremely old window air conditioning. But in the years since, I have grown to hate this machine. I have gone to the store to find better air conditioning technology, but all I find are more window air conditionings as well as portable air conditionings which have lower energy efficiency by comparison. I pray that ductless mini splits were mainstream enough to find them at department stores. Sadly however, you still have to go to a hardware store to purchase 1 as well as they’re not even remotely cheap. I want 1 eventually, however I just can’t afford 1 right now.
