I’m finally at a point where I feel like my life has gotten somewhat settled.

Earlier this year I went through some major life transitions when I exited a toxic relationship and moved out on my own.

Everything changed for me on the day that I packed that bag and left. For starters, I haven’t had my own place to live and I’ve been staying with friends all this time. Secondly, my finances have been in the toilet because my ex owed me a lot of money that I will never get back. Lastly, I have had many changes to my regular utility bills and routine expenses each month. One of the biggest and most annoying changes to my spending has been paying for a storage unit. Since I don’t have a place to put all my things, everything got shoved into storage for the time being. Now, I find myself routinely driving out to gather necessary items as the seasons are changing. I had just been out to the storage unit to grab some sweaters and coats thanks to the decreasing outdoor air temperature. The climate has been going through many changes as we’re slipping into the winter cold season these past few frigid weeks. I’ve been trying to keep up with the rapidly fluctuating uneven hot and cold temperatures inside and out, but it’s been difficult with so many of my clothing items stashed elsewhere. Just when I finally thought I had enough gear to last the chilly fall, our central heating system stopped working at my friend’s house where I’m staying. The furnace is down, and the indoor air temperature is too. Forget what I said about having all of my cold climate necessities… Now I’m headed back to the storage unit to reclaim my space heaters.
