It was not easy for me when I first got into photography.
The pointing and shooting with the camera was not the challenging part, it was developing the film.
At first I didn’t understand why everybody didn’t use digital cameras, but then I was able to learn the difference. When you have experience in the darkroom, that’s when you start to really understand how the magic happens when your pictures come to light. I learned how important it is to keep the ideal temperature control settings, at around 70 degrees. If you go too hot or too cold, everything goes wrong while attempting to develop your pictures. I know from experience as I decided to create my own darkroom. Some people have told me that you don’t necessarily need the room to be at the perfect temperature control settings, but the solutions you are using for developing. Well, personally I had better success while keeping the whole room at a consistent temperature. I didn’t enjoy having to constantly work hard to try to keep my solutions at the perfect temperature individually. It’s so much easier for me to just set the room at the right temperature control settings, and I was able to do that by installing a ductless mini split. That ductless mini split hardly uses any energy because it’s so efficient and I have never had any issues with developing my pictures after that. When people ask me for advice, I just tell them how I installed a ductless mini split and make sure to have the ideal temperatures in the room so my solutions will be just right.
