I’ve been saving all my paychecks to purchase a new AC unit.

I’ve only been living in this house for a year, and there’s a long list of repairs I want to make. The house is older, built in the late 70’s. The bones are really good, but everything is outdated and starting to fall apart. This includes the AC unit, which has always been at the top of my list to repair! I knew I could finance the AC unit, but I really didn’t want to take out another loan since I just purchased the house. When I finally had enough money in the bank for a quality and energy efficient HVAC system, I called my local HVAC company and ordered the air conditioner! The HVAC company sent an HVAC technician out the following day to install the AC equipment and he told me everything I needed to know before leaving. A month later, I received my energy bill in the mail and was disappointed to see the price. I thought the new air conditioner would make my utility bill lower, but it wasn’t. When I called the HVAC company and questioned the bill and the new air conditioner, they told me that although my air conditioner was brand new, my house was still really old. The windows and doorways weren’t sealed and the floorboards were gaping. If I really wanted to see a difference, I needed new floors, doors, and windows. Time to start saving again! I’m not sure this will ever end.
