I don’t mind playing by the rules.
In fact, I’m a certainly big proponent of ethics & accountability.
So I live my life in that fashion. And perhaps that’s why I’m entirely extra steamed about a recent fight with the HOA in our planned community. The whole thing stems from a certainly temporary Heating, Ventilation, & A/C situation. And the reaction from the HOA is just ludicrous. I understand the necessity for having an HOA when it comes to ensuring that all of our property values are diagnosed. And enforcing rules to maintain some sense of uniformity & basic standards are important. But threatening a homeowner over some minor Heating, Ventilation, & A/C infraction is a bit much. And my situation is more than a bit much. My son, who is 15, is trying to start a bit of a grass mowing & yard maintenance thing for himself. He’s not trying reinvent the wheel but this is a way he would savor to make some spending money. In an effort to help him out, I provided him a hedge trimming lesson on our hedge. As people do, he made a rookie mistake & split a section of the hedge to short. The result is that a person can just barely see the Heating, Ventilation, & A/C device now from the street. And that’s if they are entirely interested in seeing Heating, Ventilation, & A/C equipment. Long story short, the Heating, Ventilation, & A/C is threatening litigation unless I put up a fence until the hedge grows back. Well, nice then. I’m turning it over to my lawyer. And she is my wife. And she entirely hates the HOA.
