When my boyfriend and I broke up a couple of weeks ago, I decided to move out of the apartment immediately.
I didn’t want to stay in that place one more minute with the guy that cheated on me with my best friend.
I didn’t have anywhere to go, but my sister said that I could stay with her. It was a 30 minute drive to work each day, but my sister didn’t charge me for rent and she said I could stay as long as I needed. My sister gave me the room in the basement so I could come and go whenever I want. The basement room has a separate entry with a key. Unfortunately, the basement room doesn’t have any heat or air conditioning. I thought I would just use a couple of extra blankets. When I started unpacking my things, I realized the cold temperatures were much more frigid that I anticipated. I was going to walk upstairs after I unpacked so I could talk to my sister about the heat. Before I finished unpacking my clothes, she came downstairs with a large space heater. She plugged the space heater into the wall by the bed and the warm air radiated outward. It felt really nice and it didn’t take long for the room to get warm. I’ve been warm every night and I only use the heater after the sun sets. I’m having a hard time getting over my boyfriend, but my sister is doing her best to be supportive and helpful. It would be a lot harder if I had to do this alone.
