In life, there are time when money gets tight.
It’s just part of it. I learned this early on when I was living a bit too large. My spending far exceeded my saving and when the economy dove, it was a bitter pill to swallow. That experience taught me a lot about having a life that is both reasonable and adaptable. I’m always prepared to slash spending and just go with the necessities. However, I will always have my HVAC comfort. It is essential to me and my family. That doesn’t mean that I am not ready to sacrifice a bit of HVAC comfort in order to save some money. But there is a line of comfort I just won’t cross. Where we live, it’s hot and humid throughout the summer. I’m all for doing whatever we can to keep the HVAC costs as low as possible. That doesn’t mean that we are going to turn it off either. First, I’m not willing to fight the mold & mildew that will overtake our home without proper HVAC cooling. That’s right, the HVAC is also balancing the humidity levels to keep that green monster at bay. I will also make sure that I have enough money to keep the HVAC in tip top shape. I paid a lot of money for this HVAC unit and plan to get 25 years out of it. That’s not going to happen if I cut corners and don’t get the annual preventive maintenance done. Like I said, I’m always up for adapting to economic dips. It’s just that where the HVAC is concerned, there is a limit to what I will do without.
